The Messianic community lost one of its leading lights when well-known and respected Messianic Jewish scholar and author, Dr. David H. Stern, went to be with the L-rd on October 8, 2022. His passing was on a Shabbat and his loving wife, Martha, was led to post the following on her Facebook page, “The Rabbis say that the righteous pass away on Shabbat in their own beds, and the most righteous between Yom Kippur and Sukkot. This (is)what happened to our beloved David.” Martha reports that Dr. Stern received over 1000 condolences on his Facebook page, clearly showing how loved and admired he was by many. David and Martha had two children together, Daniel who lives in Israel, and Miriam who is married and lives in the States. He is also survived by eight grandchildren. Stern has long been considered as one of the pioneers of the Messianic Jewish movement in Israel.
