Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavenlies and those who turn many to righteousness will be like stars forever and ever.” (—Daniel 12:3) Dr. Daniel Nessim is surely one of those of whom these verses speaks as were his parents, grandparents, aunt and uncle. The family shines as a constellation of stars that decorate the heavenlies. Nessim is a branch leader with Chosen People Ministries, living in Seattle, Washington. His faith was passed on to him through his mother, Judith, and his father, Eli. His Jewish father grew up in a family from Baghdad and Cairo. As a result of political unrest, his family escaped to England. While living there, he was in contact with Christians who prayed and witnessed to him and he eventually accepted the Jewish Messiah into his life. On the other side of the world, a little family was growing up, tragically, in Germany under Hitler’s rule during World War II. Consequently, the father died and the poor widow and her daughter living in Berlin were without hope. Matthew 24:9 states, “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation, and be put to death; and you will be hated by all nations for my name’s sake.”
