Celebrating the fall festivals in the Land of Israel, beginning with Rosh HaShanah and ending with Sukkot, is like no other experience in life. The stores exhibit beautifully decorated window displays that include large gift baskets full of housewares and specialty foods. Holiday music is heard on the radio, pendants and banners wishing everyone a happy, healthy New Year wave across freeways and city streets. Billboards and posters on the sides of city buses proclaim, “May you be inscribed for a good year.”
