“It was absolutely heartbreaking. The devastation. The displacement. People were sometimes standing for more than twenty-four hours in the bitter cold waiting to be processed to cross the border. It is gut-wrenching to know these mothers, children, and the elderly were saying tearful goodbyes to their men, not knowing if they would ever see them alive again,” shared Chana Winograd, describing the recent scene at the Ukrainian border. When the war in Ukraine broke out, the Winograds, co-founders of Reach Initiative International, (RII), immediately jumped into action, communicating with the leaders and helping in every way G-d enabled them.
